OPC Series Portable Compressors

Model: OPC

JBS OPC Series portable air compressors provide mobile compressed air at worksites without an electrical supply through their diesel-powered design. The range offers 1.2–5 m³/min airflow and 7–15 bar working pressure, while the OPC 4000 delivers 5 m³/min, 10 bar pressure and an 80-litre fuel tank. It is designed for construction sites, roadworks, drilling, sandblasting and pneumatic tools.

OPC 4000

JBS OPC Series portable air compressors are designed to provide reliable compressed air where mains electricity or a fixed air line is unavailable. Depending on the selected model and operating pressure, these diesel-driven portable screw compressors offer approximately 1.2–5 m³/min airflow and 7–15 bar pressure options.

Independent Diesel-Powered Operation

The range is available with Briggs & Stratton or Kubota engines, depending on the model. Engine speed and air intake automatically adjust to current air demand. A closed intake valve during start-up helps the engine operate more smoothly in cold conditions.

OPC portable compressors are suitable for construction sites, roadwork, drilling, abrasive blasting, painting, pneumatic tools, fibre-optic cable blowing and industrial field maintenance.

Mobile and Service-Friendly Design

Skid-mounted, axle-mounted and towable configurations can be selected according to transport requirements. Three-stage oil separation supports consistent compressed-air quality, while removable side panels provide convenient access to the engine, filters and compressor components.

Selection should be based on the required working pressure, actual air consumption, number of tools used simultaneously, duty cycle, altitude and ambient temperature. Maximum airflow and maximum pressure may apply to different configurations.

Explore all portable air compressor models. For applications requiring higher pressure from an existing air supply, consider the OBS 18-D screw booster compressor.

OPC Portable Air Compressor Price

Pricing depends on the selected model, pressure, airflow, chassis type and optional equipment such as an aftercooler, hose reel or line lubricator. Share your required pressure, airflow and operating conditions with JBS Makina to receive technical guidance and a current quotation.

Product FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an air compressor used for?

An air compressor converts electrical or mechanical energy into compressed air, which can be used to power pneumatic tools and equipment. It is commonly used for tire inflation, air blow guns, cleaning, pneumatic tools, spray applications, workshops, car washes, and industrial systems. The required compressor capacity depends on the working pressure and air consumption of the connected equipment.

Should you choose a piston compressor or a screw compressor?

The choice between a piston compressor and a screw compressor depends on the required air demand and operating time. Piston compressors are generally suitable for intermittent use, workshops, and lower air consumption. Screw compressors are better suited for continuous operation, higher air demand, and professional or industrial applications. For busy car washes and detailing centers with constant compressed air needs, a screw compressor is often the more efficient choice.

Why is air compressor tank capacity important?

Air compressor tank capacity is important because it determines how much compressed air can be stored and how long tools can operate before the compressor motor needs to restart. A larger tank can provide more stable air pressure, reduce frequent motor cycling, and support tools with high or intermittent air demand. However, tank size should always be evaluated together with air delivery capacity, working pressure, and duty cycle.

Why does an air compressor run continuously?

An air compressor may run continuously if there is an air leak, the air demand is higher than the compressor’s capacity, the pressure switch is faulty, the intake filter is clogged, or internal components such as valves or piston rings are worn. If the compressor cannot reach the set pressure, it may continue running without stopping. Regular maintenance and checking the system for leaks can help prevent this problem.
