Why Is the Car Wash Machine Not Spraying Water?

A car wash machine may stop spraying water because of an insufficient water supply, a clogged filter or nozzle, air trapped in the hose, low inlet pressure or a pump malfunction. Start by checking the water inlet, filter, hose connections and nozzle.

Check the Water Supply and Inlet Hose

The pump cannot generate pressure if it does not receive enough water. Confirm that the water valve is fully open, the inlet hose is connected correctly, and the hose is not crushed or kinked.

Water output may be weak if the supply flow rate does not meet the machine’s requirements. Leaks at the connections may also allow the system to draw in air.

The Filter or Nozzle May Be Clogged

Sand, sediment, and limescale in the water supply can clog the inlet filter. Remove and clean the filter according to the machine’s operating instructions. Do not reuse a damaged filter.

Dirt or limescale blocking the nozzle opening may reduce or completely stop water flow. Use a suitable nozzle-cleaning tool. Do not use wire, nails, or similar objects that could enlarge the nozzle opening.

Trigger Gun or Hose Fault

The valve inside the trigger gun may be stuck, the trigger mechanism may be damaged, or a connection may be loose. Crushing, internal deformation, or leakage in the high-pressure hose can also restrict water flow.

There May Be an Airlock in the System

Air can remain inside the pump when the water connection is changed or the machine has not been used for a long time. A general bleeding procedure is:

  1. Disconnect the machine from the power supply.

  2. Open the water inlet.

  3. Hold the trigger until water flows continuously.

  4. Restart the machine after the flow becomes steady.

Pump or Pressure-Regulator Fault
